Hello! I am a first year Special Education English Language Arts teacher! I will have four sections of brilliant 7th and 8th graders. My background is in music and theater and I look forward to incorporating creativity and innovation into the classroom. My students are bright, hardworking individuals with various learning and developmental disabilities from the South Side of Chicago. In the curriculum this semester, we will strengthen our vocab skills, practice group discussion, and explore social justice topics. I would love to cultivate an environment in which they can best engage their abilities. I hope to have a sensory corner, an audio station with recorded readings of our curriculum done by local actors, sensory friendly lighting, and flexible seating. I am SO excited for the school year to begin and appreciate any help in creating this space for my young scholars! Thank you!
