I intend to have my students using the listening center during centers time. During literacy centers, students will have an opportunity to listen to books on CD to hear and emulate fluent readers. Listening centers make learning to read engaging for kindergarteners! While students are listening to the story, they are able to focus on details of the story and pictures to aid in comprehension. Their comprehension is increased because they are able to retell the story from start to finish. Students will be better able to retell and sequence stories both orally and written. The end goal is to help my students become successful readers and set them up for future success.
