I chose calculators! "Calculating for the Future," is a correct statement, but most students don't have scientific calculators and phone apps are woefully insufficient. Scientific calculators allow all the students to learn together and be amazed at the power of technology (even simple technology like a calculator). I'll be honest, a classroom set of scientific calculators makes life easier for me too. When each student has a different calculator, I spend a great deal of time figuring out each students calculator. I only have my students for 45 minutes a day. If everyone has access to the same tools, class goes much more smoothly.
