For our students who have been identified as benefiting from a therapy dog, this would mean the world! These 10 students have faced severe trauma, homelessness, low socio-economic lifestyle, loss of family, and foster care (to only mention a few). The social-emotional needs among our students is so high, and we want to be able to provide our students with every opportunity to thrive. Not only do we have students who are experiencing trauma, but we also have students who have other big mental health needs as well. Whether they are on the spectrum or struggling with learning disabilities, therapy dogs have been proven to improve academic and personal needs.

About my class
