An iPad, and an Apple Pencil will engage my students in appropriate and meaningful play using technology. My students will learn through many educational apps that can help them learn while they are having fun. My students will use a variety of apps that will do things like read to them, talk for those who do not have a voice, and build fine motor skills for students who lack them. The Apple Pencil will provide opportunities for them to build the fine motor skills in their tiny hands while coloring, practicing writing letters and so much more. By providing my students with technology, we are accessing tools that can reinforce skills, teach new ones and enable higher level learning. My students need engaging, educational, and appropriate technology tools that will motivate them to learn more. An iPad will help my visual and kinesthetic learners to grow. This will be an added center to our classroom where students can work independently, or one on one with an adult for more intense therapy. Another option the iPad adds, is using it as an adaptive technology piece for my students who are nonverbal, giving them a voice. It gives them an opportunity to make choices with the iPad speaking for them. Without access to proper funds, my students are missing out on technology devices that other students in local districts are getting. Now, all of my students will be able to access learning through technology on a daily basis - incredible!
