My project is to provide a safe and calming place for students when life gets overwhelming and out of control. As the school counselor, I often work with students that are struggling with their emotions because things are happening at home or in school. Schools must be there to educate and support the whole child and this is one small way that we can reach this goal. The sensory table and teepee that I have asked for will help make a calming place for students to regroup so that they can continue to learn and grow into healthy and happy adults. It also sends them the message that we are here for them no matter how their day is going.
