Most of my students are not very technologically savvy. They often don't have computers at home. We have been lucky enough to get Chromebooks for each student in my class to use at school. However, the students have difficulty using the touchpads. The touchpads are small and my students are not able to easily right-click or drag and drop. This is a hindrance when they are using their Chromebooks to complete assignments. Right-click has so many important functions such as cut, copy and paste. Drag and drop is useful when formatting or creating presentations. The donations for mouse devices and mousepads will go such a long way to helping my students become better technology masters. I have had students lose text or graphics, erase whole pages of work they have previously done, or mess up formatting because they click inappropriately. Most of the time they don't even realize they've done it until it's too late. It's frustrating for them and sometimes they have to start all over again causing them to get behind. I know that having these pieces of equipment will make using the Chromebooks so much easier and more enjoyable for my students.
