Because all of my wonderfully, talented students are unique and diverse learners, differentiation is key to their learning. One way to do this is to differentiate the learning environment. Flexible seating would allow for students to choose their seating options and become more motivated and involved in their own learning. I hope to provide students with a variety of possibilities including balance balls, wobble chairs, and wobble cushions. My students are active learners, so these options will give the ability to move without being a disruption. Also, by giving my students a choice in their seating, hopefully, their engagement level will increase. Studies have proven that engagement is directly correlated to student achievement.
