Distance teaching has been the biggest challenge of my career. I have spent the duration of our distance learning improving my craft via this new way to teach, while at the same time sharpening up my technology skills. However, conducting lesson via Zoom calls alone while sharing a screen, or writing on a whiteboard next while holding it up is awkward and ineffective. It has been difficult to showcase live lessons so that they are interactive and visible to all. With the presentation camera, I will be able to show blending lessons for phonics/reading, model writing, and show how math word problems using manipulatives and other tools. Distance learning is an already stressful and difficult situation. Having the ideal tools and technology to transform their home learning into a more positive one should be the goal of every educator.
