My students live in a low social economic community where they face a variety of challenges everyday. Often times students come to school distracted by personal problems at home. However, they are hard workers who believe in the value of a good education. Many students' (90% English Learners) are reading below grade level and I believe if we can make reading more fun, they will be more engaged and gain more confidence in reading. Our school have made significant gains in student achievement. We are all working hard to become a distinguished school. We are a Title I school where 100% of students receive free lunch.
