My vision is a class full of vibrant learning. Students are spread all around the classroom learning in ways that meet their needs. In my blended learning classroom, students are empowered to take ownership of their learning needs. Some students meet with me in small groups, other students are engaged in technology applications to extend their knowledge through problem-solving, a few partner groups participate in hands-on activities to practice new skills learned. Students are enjoying their learning environment because they are empowered to meet their learning needs. Technology is a tool that offers students many opportunities to take ownership of their learning. We must embrace the love of technology in our kids and how useful it can be in providing multiple avenues of learning. In our classroom of 22 students, we take turns with the limited amount of technology available. We are unable to do any large group lessons and must consistently borrow from other classes. If we are able to receive a generous donation for the additional Fire tablets, we will be able to achieve more success with empowering learning.
