Physical science at the freshmen level can be dry at times. Furthermore, my students often struggle to connect science in the classroom with the world around them. Since we have a 1:1 ratio Chromebooks to students, I am able to utilize technology in order to motivate and engage my class. The Chromebooks also allow me to expose students to a variety of interactive resources that connect our studies to the outside world. However, this can be difficult at times, as students working at different paces can make for a distracting classroom environment. A class set of headphones would enable me to further engage my students through technology and open up a whole new world of science for them. I will be able to assign podcasts that connect our studies to real world applications. Headphones will also allow students to access various videos and online textbooks so that they are able to learn at their own pace without disrupting others.
