The choice of these particular books is not coincidental; I found them through the Project Lit project. Project Lit works with teachers to provide students with books that empower students as readers, writers and leaders by giving them diverse reading opportunities. I believe the only way to make our society more caring and understanding is to share with students the lives of others, and I believe that books are the portal to this. Giving my students these books in particular will help them understand that all lives are important and that we each must project that feeling in order to receive it.

About my class
