Having stools in the art room keeps students more alert, frees up the congestion in the room for better traffic flow, and allows artists to push them under the table to stand while creating. This allows the students more independence to choose how and where they create. My students are currently using heavy chairs designed for middle school students. The stools would be considerably lighter than our current chairs so all ages can move them easily throughout art class transitions. These stools will also provide adequate seating for the increased class sizes in the upcoming school year. Another form of flexibility and choice will be added to the art room when stools are funded!
