The furniture and rugs that I am requesting will make my counseling office a more comfortable space to meet with students. The saucer chairs and ottomans will provide additional seating, while the area rugs, lamp and posters will create a more defined counseling area within a larger classroom. The storage bins will be used for toys and art supplies that I use in individual sessions. My students will feel more relaxed and engaged while visiting the school counselor if they have a cozy area to meet. The furniture and carpets will help me turn a classroom into a counseling office. I meet with students who might be experiencing difficulties that are impacting them at school. That might include small group lessons, behavior support, stress management and other emotional concerns. Having a more functional space will help students grow socially and emotionally.
