One priority in my room is flexible seating and a comfortable welcoming environment. This ensures students can find a place to settle where they are most productive/focused and maximize time spent learning. In order to make more room for flexible seating options like couches, floor seating, standing desks or regular tables and chairs, I would like to replace a large bulky filing cabinet (taking away floor space) with these two small ones. These smaller file cabinets can fit into space which is underused at the moment (underneath a non-movable counter) and by getting rid of the large filing cabinet I will gain back floor space without losing needed storage space for classroom supplies and student work. These files cabinets will free up floor space and allow me to offer more flexible seating options where students can be their most productive and focused to maximize time spent learning.
