My students need hygiene items available to them for times when they cannot be accessed by their families. My students will benefit from these hygiene kits in times of need. My student will also benefit from having snacks available to them in the guidance/child study team office as a student who is hungry is often distracted from learning. As a school social worker, I feel very strongly that meeting students' basic needs is highly necessary in order for them to be successful in both the classroom and community. By making hygiene products and snacks available at school, we can begin preparing student's to become fully focused and engaged in their education.
