Throughout the course of the day, students need ice for many reasons including chronic pain, acute injuries and even headaches! Our school has an unreliable ice machine in the gym on the other side of the building. My office lacks a freezer to store/make ice in, so my students frequently don't have ice packs to use. Students need to feel well to learn well! And when a student suffers an acute injury, ice provides nearly instant pain reduction while waiting for other treatment. Having access to a fresh, continuously replenished source of ice in my office will not only allow me to best serve my students so that they can focus on learning, but it will free up the time that I currently spend looking for ice to focus on patient care.
