Our mission at Baylor College of Medicine Academy at James D Ryan MS (BCMAR), a Houston ISD school, is to prepare diverse students for rigorous high school programs, college, and careers through an innovative, accelerated health science program. Health science is a multidisciplinary field that employs health care professionals, computer scientists, communications specialists, artists, educators, engineers and more. Our health science theme thus offers a framework for students to gain the skills and knowledge needed for a wide array of disciplines. The theme also provides a foundation for students to make healthy decisions that affect achievement. Our vision is that all students rise to high standards and become empowered to make beneficial choices in every aspect of their lives through the student/teacher culture of continuous improvement in the critical thinking and effective communication skills.
