I am requesting headphones that will allow my students to individually listen to online literacy and math applications on their Chromebooks. These online programs focus on building crucial literacy skills such as phonics, reading comprehension, and vocabulary that they will need to succeed in school. They also listen to math and science videos that provide knowledge of fundamental concepts and the world around them. Having headphones will allow them to clearly hear these programs in my classroom without being distracted. Currently, not all of my students have access to headphones, so by purchasing a class set, I will be able to provide equal opportunity for all of my students to improve their reading, listening and math skills that will benefit them the rest of their life. With each student able to have their individual headphones, students' activities will not be disruptive to others, and it will lead to greater focus and increased productivity in their work. Lastly, having their own headphones will give my students ownership over their learning and empower them to achieve greater goals.
