The use of a color coded carpet will help my students understand spatial awareness, and also provide a consistent area for general assembly and morning meetings. The carpet will be stimulate learning and can be incorporated into almost all our daily routines. The carpet will be used consistently every morning as we unpack the the day, developing a sense of workspace and proximity. Ideally, there will be enough space for students to develop a sense of ownership. Spatial awareness is an added benefit to having a color coded carpet. Boundaries and limits can be modeled.
