When a student does not have their basic needs met (food and general comfort level in the classroom and school), it makes it difficult for them to be their best selves in the school environment. These materials will help ensure that every student’s basic needs are met, so they can focus on their learning. They will have access to flexible seating so they will be able to be seated comfortably. They will have access to leveled reading materials, fostering their ability to read independently, and they will have access to snacks that will nourish them should they have missed supper the night before or come in late to school and missed breakfast.
