Cooking is a real-world application of math and science. When students learn to cook, they put what they have learned into meaningful practice with skills and abilities that will last them a lifetime. Infusing math and science into cooking lessons create a by-product that not just sticks in their mind but also to their bellies. Cooking is a delicious way to learn about rates, ratios, fractions, percentages and so much more. Students also get hands on practice creating physical and chemical changes. Students retain what they learn when it has a practical effect on their life. Cooking is a great way to ensure that lesson learned stay learned. The toaster ovens will allow us to reach more students with our projects.
