This story was chosen as the 2018 Global Read Aloud book for 2018. It tells the story of three children who have faced dangers and searched for refuge during challenging time periods across the globe. Students will be able to read together about children from different times, including today, who have faced struggles and overcome their challenges. This book also demonstrates that though space and time may serve as barriers, we are living in a time where we are growing increasingly connected to each other. By studying this novel, students will also practice their literacy skills on a high interest text with support.
