The indoor sensory swing will enable my students to learn body awareness, balance, motor planning, and spatial skills. I would like to broaden the sensory options within my classroom. The swing serves as a versatile item and can be used by sensory seeking and sensory avoiding children. All of my students would benefit emotionally and academically with the use of this swing. It will provide sensory pressure and creates a fun space to bounce, swing, spin, or lie down enjoying the movement of the swing. Deep Pressure Therapy has a positive effect on hormone levels. Researchers found that Deep Pressure Therapy actually increases “happy” serotonin levels by 28% percent. They also found that the stress hormone, cortisol, decreased by 31%.
