The students in our Life Skills classroom can sometimes have difficulties with sharing items and playing with each other. In order to give them extra time to complete activities together, I implemented morning buckets this year. The students come to a small table once they finish breakfast and complete the activities in the buckets. Morning bucket time has introduced them to new ways to share materials, play cooperatively, and respect each others ideas. We are currently using a small round table for approximately 12 students with two students in wheelchairs. Two rectangle tables would give us so much more room to spread out and explore the materials in the buckets.
