These materials will help immensely in allowing the students to put their knowledge to the test. Rather than read or watch experiments, they will be able to challenge themselves to apply the concepts they've learned to figure things out. The K'nex kit will foster the children's creativity as they collaboratively design an amusement park that actually works. This will be used in both the classroom setting as well as with our Science Olympiad teams. K'nex are wonderful for showing the students that there are so many ways to solve problems and figure things out. They snap circuits will show the kids how to create working circuits and the many uses of circuitry in the real world. These types of hands of activities help the students make connections and see first hand the process of producing energy. The donut magnets are a material we use in class a lot for demonstrations that showcase magnetic fields. It is so fun to watch the kids try out the talking magnet or floating magnet "tricks" with their own set of donut magnets!
