With the large rectangular rug, children will be able to sit and kneel on a soft rug that is off the cold classroom flooring. It will define their building space and assist in cleaning up with their materials within the defined space. The cushion of the carpet will also assist in reducing noise levels by absorbing sounds, especially when the block tower comes tumbling down. The rug will invite them into a soft place that they are willing to visit over and over again. They will build and construct with blocks, build train tracks with block communities, design zoos, and many other creations as their vivid imaginations integrate within community building activities; sharing the building experiences together with peers.
