Every day my students join me on the rug for a variety of activities. We have morning meeting, play games, share stories about our summer or weekend adventures, and learn new and exciting information on the rug. Our community time is spent together on the rug, and it is utilized multiple times a day. Unfortunately, the small rugs I have been using are falling apart. I have found that my students enjoy picking and pulling at the seams and strings of the old rugs. It is time to spruce up the classroom and get my students a new and colorful rug where we can enjoy whole group time together! In fourth grade, students learn all 50 states and capitals. This rug will be a great addition to the classroom and will be referenced as we master the standard!
