The use of iPads is almost daily in my classroom, especially during literacy and math centers. All of my students look forward to their day at the technology stations. During math centers students use the iPads to complete their Xtra Math rotation (fluency testing), create math story books containing word problems, and explore many mathematics based apps. During our literacy block students use the iPads to explore online libraries, listen to audio books, create Chatter Pix that explain story elements, use Spelling City to practice phonics, and many other fun activities. By donating to our project, you will not only help with our classroom's technology needs, you will aid in providing a fun and exciting way to help increase students' academic growth. Our school system has provided teachers with amazing professional development opportunities, many of those based on technology in the classroom. I am currently limited as to how I can implement the use of certain programs and apps due to limited resources. With two additional iPads our classroom could implement apps such as Kahoot, an online quiz game, as whole group activities. The additional resources will enhance skills taught in our classroom, as well as students' desire to learn with new technology.
