The importance of headphones (with microphones) in the classroom is for learning stations, which is a two time daily activity for my students. We have a math learning station and a literacy learning station block which both include the use of technology - something most of my students do not get to use outside of the classroom. For math, we use Prodigy or on free days it's ABCya or other educational websites. As for literacy, they use our district's reading program which they LOVE! For this reading program, however, it definitely requires a one-to-one computer and headphone (with microphone). These headphones will allow students to complete their learning stations effectively and efficiently, without distractions from other learning stations.
