As a teacher of these gentlemen, I plan and hope to involve each young man in exploring who they can become though education and life lessons. I believe that most people, not just children, are willing to learn and come with an open mind. It is up to the educators in these circumstances to create an environment that makes wanting to stay engaged to learn a top priority. That is why I believe in, "Flexible Seating." I believe, that when a student feels comfortable, they are able to give more of themselves towards successful learning. If the student feels in charge of their learning, they will be more engaged in their learning. That is why I try to create a classroom environment that makes the students feel as comfortable as possible, by using flexible seating. This project will help towards creating the most successful flexible classroom environment as possible. I would love to have as many options as I can, so the students can have multiple choices each day for the choosing. No desks and hard plastic chairs if that is not what the student feels is his/her most comfortable seating arrangement. From my experience, I have found that many students love sitting on yoga balls and other seating while in class. So, these ball chairs and relaxing lounge chairs will be a perfect fit as an option in our classroom and as the first item I ask for!
