After "making do" with leftover art supplies for several years, our Title I students are excited to have the opportunity to experience more types of art for themselves. Most of them have never created art that was not merely paper, pencil, or paintbrush-based. Almost all remote-learning assignments were drawing techniques. Our students would like to explore basic sculpting and three-dimensional art. Since we do not have access to a kiln, air-dry clay is our best option, and there are enough supplies on the list for all art students to create one complete project. Students have also expressed an interest in learning a form of art that might provide an income in the future. The Cricut and accompanying tools will be used to allow students to craft items for future fundraisers as well as learn an art-based craft that could become a future career.
