I teach 6th grade core at a middle school in West San Jose. Our school is large, and 50% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. We have a great deal of ethnic diversity and many students are not exposed to books at home. They are eager learners, but need to be interested in the topic. My kids love Greek Mythology, but our school has no money for updated books.
