These kayaks will give my students the opportunity to try a lifetime sport that most have never been exposed to. As a high school physical education teacher it is important for me to help students find activities that they will enjoy as part of their lifetime fitness plan. My school has one old kayak that students have used in the past and it has been so exciting to watch them experience the sport for the first time. With class sizes of 30+ my students are unable to get enough kayak time in. Having tandem kayaks and life vests, I can get 4 students in a time and can incorporate some relay races as well. The donations to this project will introduce many students to the sport of kayaking and give them a new way to enjoy nature while being physically active.
