Giving my students a rug to sit on during class will improve not only comfort but also classroom management. Right now, my students have to sit on a tile floor when they come to music class and it is difficult to designate space for each child to sit. In primary grades, we do not use chairs at all in music, so these students spend all of their seated time on the floor. A rug would make this much more comfortable for them. This rug will be used as a learning tool as well as a space to rest and relax during listening activities. Having a rug will make class time much more comfortable and fun for all of my students!
