My project involves reusable props that will be used by my art students during observational drawing lessons. I picked props that will appeal to all students, but especially to young men. My students will learn to draw from real life; using a variety of interesting props strengthens our observational skills and drawing techniques. My project will provide three new class sets of props that will be used over and over in Foundations of Drawing classes; one set of horses (our school mascot), one set of cars, and a class set of insects. My classes usually have 25+ students; with about 50% boys and 50% girls. I hope to use these props to encourage all my artists, but especially the young men.
