The standard curriculum is not designed with students with special needs in mind. My job as an educator is to break down, scaffold, and modify the curriculum to allow students to achieve their learning goals. This involves a lot of self-made worksheets. It can include anything from vocabulary words, close/guided reading passages, word banks, sentence starters, spelling tactics, checklists, math charts, step-by-step instructions, and many more. Having a printer in my classroom offers a variety of advantages for my students. It offers flexibility, sustainability, and on-the-spot printing abilities.
