Exploring with our senses is a huge part of what we do in preschool. It allows us to fully engage with what we are looking at. Right now we have a traditional rectangle sensory table that takes up more room then we have in our new smaller room. Our sensory table is also cracked in multiple places limiting us to only using dry items in it. That is why we are trying to purchase a new table and some materials to jump start our table themes. Being able to have a table, like this Step 2 WaterWheel Activity Table, that can hold water or other wet items opens up a whole new world of possibilities. It will allow my students to use their senses in a different way and explore new subjects. I would like to model our new sensory table after a blog that I follow. The Step2 water wheel activity play table is a round multi level table that can be utilized in multiple ways. Not only does this dual level table give it multiple uses but the smaller rounded design fits better in our smaller classroom. The storage boxes will be used to hold and organize different themes making changing the table out quick and easy. To help us jump start our themes we are asking for an assortment of animals, trees, marbles, and sand. Over time more items and themes will be added but for now this gives us something to start with. It would mean the world to us if you choose to help fund our new sensory table!
