Our district lost three of its six campuses last year due to flooding from Hurricane Harvey. We were able to resume classes within a month after Harvey. With some creative scheduling and quick repairs to the high school, we shared our campus with the middle school and junior high for most of the year. Churches provided facilities for our elementary students and others attended classes in temporary buildings.
All recovery funds and resources are being directed towards rebuilding the two elementary schools and middle school that were completely destroyed by flood water. There are simply no funds available to purchase seating for the high school library computer lab.
If a student needs to work on a computer, they have to retrieve a chair from another location. I would love to provide my students with comfortable seating while they work on the computer. Because high school students range in weight from 85-lb 9th graders, to 200-lb senior football players - I need seats that are sturdy and will accommodate a variety of sizes. The stools I selected are height adjustable and they swivel; so students can turn to see the teacher, a screen, or white board. The stools are functional, sturdy, and simply cool. The kids will love them.
