There are nine computers in our classroom that are old and outdated and on most days maybe only 5 work. When I incorporate technology in my classroom it not only increases engagement, it also teaches them how to be successful in the 21st century. However with 22 students to a class and 5-6 working computers, integrating technology effectively in class becomes a challenge. By providing my classroom with tablets and flexible seating it will allow me to better integrate technology into our classroom and not be tied to a desk with a sometimes-working computer. With these tablets they can access online libraries, use educational applications to extend their learning, research writing projects, and so much more! These kids have so little to begin with, I want to be able to give them every opportunity to learn and do their best. They deserve it!
