The children will work with the teacher in small groups to learn a few letters at a time with things such as the Letter Monkeys, the Snap-Together Letter Blocks and the Big Box of Letters. The Big Box of Letters will provide hours of interaction with a variety of uppercase and lowercase letters and the pictures that begin with the letter. It will be an excellent teacher-directed tool for small groups. They will interact with the Letter Monkeys during free centers as well as in small group time so they will learn the names of the letters and the sounds that they make. They will also learn a picture or two which begins with that letter and sound. The children need multiple ways to learn letters and by giving them a variety of manipulatives to catch their interest, they will be 'over the moon' to learn. I can't wait to see the children interacting with the new materials and getting excited about learning letters. The new items will take them to the next level of learning by providing high interest materials.
