My students need a communal gathering place in our classroom to help expand their academic and social- emotional learning. There are multiple times a day where we gather on our carpet to talk together, start and end our day, work cooperatively, and learn about each other. This Radiating Alphabet Circles carpet will be the focus point of our classroom. We use the Responsive Classroom model which focuses on morning meeting, with a carpet as an integral part of the model. The radiating circles provides a tool to help young learners remember their ABC's, as well as give them proper spacing while joining for a read- aloud or reviewing the tasks of the day.

About my class
