A child's work is play. Learning to problem solve, work as a team and spark a love of science, technology, engineering and math through play is my goal in the classroom. My "at-risk" students (100% of my full day kindergarten students are "at-risk") need quality materials to explore through play to re-enforce learning done through text and other methods of education in the classroom. A wide variety of quality materials can meet the needs of the "at-risk" but brilliant minds of my students. Building materials like the "Totter Tower" and the magnetic cubes will create open-ended learning in a cooperative center time environment. The kinetic sand will allow for sensory exploration. Other materials I am requesting will also help students design creatively with straws, magnets and blocks. I maintain high expectations of my students and feel it is my job to find a way to get these materials into their hands. Thank-you!
