My students would benefit from having multiple, flexible seating options in my classroom. A traditional chair does not meet some of their sensory needs. It is hard for some of my students to stay engaged while sitting in traditional chairs. They often get fidgety and restless. They benefit from being able to move during a lesson in order to help them focus, as well as instilling the ability to make student choice to best meet their learning needs. I would like the opportunity to offer them flexible seating options that will make them more comfortable while they are learning. A comfortable learning environment will lead to more student engagement and a positive learning environment.
