Flexible spaces make learning fun! My goal is to provide my students with a learning space that is geared towards their needs. One BIG need for all children is movement! By allowing children with alternate seating methods, children can move and be comfortable at the same time.
By providing students with seating options, it allows students to feel empowered. Many of my students are the kiddos who have a difficult time focusing and staying on task. When individuals who struggle to focus are relaxed and calm, and better yet---allowed to move in their seat, their ability to retain information is greatly increased and they are more likely to become productive learners.
Flexible seating will allow my students to collaborate and grow as learners. Removing traditional desks will create a sense of community and allow more opportunities for student collaboration. Allowing students to navigate their classroom and explore different seating options boosts their confidence. I am eager to see my students reactions to their new flexible learning space and cannot wait to see the positive outcomes!
