This rug will be great for my students to gather at because it is in the shape of a circle. This is especially important for younger students and students with disabilities who have a hard time making a circle on their own. Circles are a great way to do many activities in music because the students can see the teacher as well as each other, and they can feel like a more cohesive ensemble. This rug also gives the opportunity for learning from its large musical staff and symbols. A lesson that would work really well using this rug is naming notes on the staff by throwing bean bags and naming the note in which they land on.
