Flexible seating allows students to do their best learning. I know I do not like to sit behind a desk all day, so why are we making students? Providing students with different options on where they are allowed to sit will provide each student with ownership and dignity for their learning. This will look different for all students. Laying down, kneeling, sitting, or standing. We all do our best learning in different ways. I am asking for different seating options for these children. Making sure each child has an option to best fit them. When children feel comfortable and safe they will open up to new experiences and take risks in their education. Taking leaps that they may not take when confined to one space. Flexible seating will allow all students to be comfortable and have a safe place to learn.
