My students need direct instruction on how to learn through play. Dramatic play is a way for our students to start to learn to use their imaginations. Often, my students like to play with the same toy in the same way. In our classroom, it is our goal to help them learn how to use toys in different ways, and in ways that support their use of problem solving, imagination, and connection to real life situations. Using hand puppets and dolls, dress up clothes, blocks and kitchen props will help my students learn to play in new and different ways.
