I teach 1st and 2nd grade virtually. One of my biggest challenges is teaching students correct letter formation and sentence structure. First graders are still learning how to correctly write their letters. They are learning how to construct sentences and express themselves. They need to see examples to model their writing after. In 2nd grade, we are getting ready to begin cursive. 2nd graders still need to see writing modeled as they begin writing more complicated types of paragraphs. I can also use the whiteboard to house my math manipulatives. These manipulatives will provide visual examples for my students as we move through some of the most difficult topics in 2nd-grade math.
